SkyCal Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Soloman Northrop, who operates SkyCal as a sole proprietor. There is no company behind SkyCal. By creating a SkyCal account, joining a shared calendar, or paying for SkyCal Pro, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use SkyCal.
What SkyCal Is
SkyCal is a household calendar web app. It provides a shared calendar, household profiles, tasks and chores, rewards, grocery and shopping lists, meal planning, recipes, reminders, sleep logs, a photo scrapbook, a weather panel, optional Google and Outlook Calendar sync, and an in-app assistant. SkyCal is a scheduling and organizing tool for families. It is not a medical, legal, financial, childcare, or emergency service, and it must not be relied on as one.
Accounts
You sign in to SkyCal with a Google or Microsoft account. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for everything done in SkyCal by anyone who uses your device or your session. Some actions, including managing billing and sharing a calendar by email address, require a verified email address on your account. You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live in order to create an account and to pay for SkyCal Pro.
Households And Shared Calendars
A SkyCal calendar belongs to a household. Members hold one of three roles: owner, adult, or member. The owner creates the calendar, controls its settings and its profiles, and is the only person who can start or manage a subscription for it. Adults can view and change household content. Members have limited rights, for example they can complete chores and redeem rewards only for the profile they are linked to. A household can also create profiles that have no account at all, which is how most households represent children and shared tablets.
Anyone you invite to a calendar can see everything in that calendar. Invite codes, share links, and email invitations are how access is granted, so treat them as you would a password. A calendar can hold up to 100 pending email invitations. If you add another person's information to SkyCal, including a child's, you confirm that you are entitled to do so and that you are responsible for how that information is used inside your household.
Acceptable Use
Do not use SkyCal to break the law, to harass or endanger anyone, or to store material you have no right to store. Do not attempt to access another household's data, probe or interfere with SkyCal's infrastructure, work around plan limits or usage allowances, resell or repackage SkyCal, or run automated bulk requests against it. Do not upload content you do not own or have permission to use, and do not use the recipe import feature to copy content in a way that infringes someone else's rights. SkyCal may suspend or end access that breaks these rules.
The Assistant
The SkyCal assistant is a managed service. Your request and the household categories you have allowed are sent from SkyCal's server to the model provider SkyCal has configured. The assistant prepares changes for you to review. It does not apply a change to your calendar until you confirm it, and a prepared change that is not confirmed expires after fifteen minutes. Assistant output is generated by a language model and can be wrong. Check anything that matters before you act on it. Assistant use is subject to a monthly limit on the number of requests and on cost, set separately for the Free and Pro plans, and those limits can change.
Plans And What Each One Includes
Free households can use shared calendars and Google and Outlook Calendar sync, chores, rewards and routines, grocery lists, and meal planning, with up to 3 family member profiles. On the Free plan, adding or editing recipes, using the photo scrapbook, and using sleep tracking are not available, and adding a fourth family member profile is not available.
SkyCal Pro removes the profile limit and adds photos and sleep tracking, unlimited manually added recipes, the assistant, and automated recipe imports. Automated recipe imports are limited to 20 per calendar month. The allowance is counted in UTC and resets on the first of the following month. A cached import that returns a previous result does not consume the allowance, and a failed import releases the slot it reserved. Manually added recipes are unlimited and are not counted against that number.
Uploads have size and format limits. Scrapbook images must be JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF and at most 10 MB each. Recipe images and imported recipe video must be JPEG, WebP, or MP4 and at most 25 MB each.
Subscriptions, Renewal, And Price Changes
SkyCal Pro costs 6.99 US dollars per month or 59.99 US dollars per year, for one household. Payment is by card through Stripe. Checkout is available only to the household owner and only when the household does not already have a subscription or an active gift.
A subscription renews automatically at the same price and interval until it is canceled. You are charged at the start of each period. Renewal continues until you cancel, and canceling stops future renewals rather than ending the current period early. See the refund and cancellation policy for how cancellation works and what happens to the rest of a paid period.
SkyCal may change its prices. A price change will not apply to a period you have already paid for. SkyCal will give notice before a changed price applies to your renewals, and you can cancel before that renewal if you do not want to continue at the new price. SkyCal may also change what the Free and Pro plans include, including usage allowances, as the product changes.
Gift access and lifetime access, where SkyCal has granted them, are provided at SkyCal's discretion, are tied to the household or account they were issued to, and are not transferable or redeemable for cash. A gift code can be redeemed once.
Your Content
Everything you put into SkyCal stays yours. You keep ownership of your calendar content, recipes, lists, photos, and everything else you create or upload. You give SkyCal only the permission it needs to run the service for you: to store your content, to display it to the members of your shared calendar, to back it up, and to pass the specific parts described in the privacy policy to the service providers that make a feature work, such as sending a recipe link to the import service. SkyCal does not sell your content, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to train machine learning models.
SkyCal's Intellectual Property
SkyCal, including its software, design, and name, belongs to Soloman Northrop. These terms give you permission to use SkyCal as a customer. They do not transfer any ownership. Do not copy, decompile, or create derivative works from SkyCal's software except where the law says you may.
Third Party Services
Some features depend on services SkyCal does not control, including Google and Microsoft sign-in, Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar, Stripe, the recipe import and model providers, and the weather and geocoding services. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms. If one of them changes, restricts, or withdraws access, the SkyCal feature that depends on it may change or stop working.
Availability And Disclaimers
SkyCal is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. SkyCal does not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, that it will be free of errors, that reminders or notifications will always be delivered on time, that imported or synced calendar data will always be complete or accurate, or that assistant output will be correct. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, SkyCal and Soloman Northrop are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or a missed appointment, event, or obligation, arising from your use of SkyCal. To the fullest extent the law allows, total liability for any claim relating to SkyCal is limited to the amount you paid SkyCal in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as that jurisdiction permits.
Suspension And Termination
You can stop using SkyCal at any time, cancel a subscription as described in the refund and cancellation policy, and request deletion of your account or calendar. SkyCal may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if payment fails, or if it is necessary to protect the service or its users. If SkyCal ends the service for a household that has paid for a period it has not used, SkyCal will refund the unused part of that period. The sections on your content, intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive termination.
Changes To These Terms
SkyCal may update these terms when the product or the law changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version. If a change is significant, SkyCal will give notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use SkyCal after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pinellas County, Florida.
